Morocco: Intense Heat Alert from Sunday to Tuesday

Morocco is bracing for another exceptional heat surge between Sunday, August 10 and Tuesday, August 12. According to the National Meteorological Directorate, temperatures will hit 33 °C in many cities and could soar locally between 39 °C and 48 °C due to the dry, scorching chergui winds from the Sahara.

This phenomenon, fueled by climate change, may worsen water shortages, strain crops, and raise the risk of wildfires. Residents are urged to avoid going out during peak heat, stay hydrated, and follow official weather updates.
